New York, NY AND Stamford, Conn. – February 20, 2013 – 2K and WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that they have entered into an exclusive multi-year agreement granting 2K the exclusive worldwide rights to publish the critically acclaimed WWE video game franchise across all major platforms and distribution channels. The series, which will continue to be developed by Yukes in Japan, will combine the studio’s signature gameplay with 2K’s commitment to authenticity in WWE ’14, the latest iteration of the popular, long running series.
The WWE has made headlines all over the globe. Whether it be for putting on over-the-top wrestling events, making action movies, the scandalous activities of current or former wrestlers, or shaking up the political platform you can always count on them for exciting endeavors. Without a doubt though, one of the most memorable WWE endeavors has been their foray into videogames. Smackdown Vs. Raw is among the most successful gaming franchises in the history of videogames, and the series continues in 2011.
