Philadelphia - - The Flyers beat the Oilers 4-1 in a game that had a lot of interesting things going on with both franchises. The last place Oilers were outshot 17-1 in the first period and yet they walked away with a few positives and the Flyers at times were sleep walking through their 4-1 win and some of them felt the win wasn’t very satisfying.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that defenseman Chris Pronger will undergo surgery this afternoon to repair a broken bone in his right foot, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. In addition, Holmgren also announced that defenseman Matt Walker underwent successful hip surgery on Thursday.

Claude Giroux found him and the veteran did the rest. The Flyers had scored two goals 2:01 apart for the big comeback win against the Central leading Chicago Blackhawks.
