Albany, NY - The Hershey Bears grabbed a 3-0 series lead in the East Division Finals by defeating the Albany River Rats 6-5 late in the first period of overtime.

Glens Falls, NY - The Albany River Rats (39-27-3-5) snapped a three game losing streak tonight as they manhandled their Time Warner Cup rival Adirondack Phantoms (31-35-3-3) by the score of 6-2 and jumped six points ahead of the Norfolk Admirals for second place in the East Division.

Albany, NY - The Albany River Rats (37-24-3-5) grabbed two golden points this afternoon as they beat their cross-state division nemesis Syracuse Crunch (29-32-3-3) by the score of 3-1 with just 11 games remaining in the playoff push. As big as a win it was for Albany it was probably a bigger loss for Syracuse as they find themselves now fading out of the playoff picture.

AHL Franchise Sold To MAK Hockey, LLC

Albany N.Y. – Capital District Sports, Inc. announced today that its subsidiary, the Albany River Rats, has sold its American Hockey League franchise to MAK Hockey, LLC located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The sale will not affect the remainder of the 2009-10 season, with regular season games concluding on April 10 followed by the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs.
