Kyle Turris stood at his locker stall. The only thing bigger than his smile was the rip in his undershirt, exposing a bare shoulder.
“It’s the only one I’ve worn since I’ve been here,” he said of the tattered Nike shirt. “I guess it’s good luck.”
Turris got all the luck he needed Wednesday night as he ripped a shot top shelf past New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, giving the Senators a 3-2 overtime win to tie their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at 2-2. Game 5 goes back to New York Saturday night, while Game 6 returns to Scotiabank Place in Kanata Monday night.

When you have a top prospect GM’s and player development personnel always face tough decisions. Should they let a player percolate for a few years in juniors, or in college and then the AHL before graduating to the NHL? Most of the time the answer is yes but in the case of Ottawa’s Kyle Turris that didn’t happen.
