OTTAWA -- If hockey fans in Ottawa didn’t like Brian Boyle after the Senators’ first two playoff games against the New York Rangers, a downright hate fest for the lanky Rangers’ third liner developed after Monday night’s Game 3.
The Rangers rode the goaltending of Henrik Lundqvist as the Rangers stole a 1-0 win from the Senators at Scotiabank Place. The Senators were on the Rangers’ doorstep throughout the game – they outshot the Rangers 39-23 – but when the dust settled, it was a third period goal by Boyle that stood as the difference.
