With the basketball season upon us, with all kinds of news being made, with the college and pro game making news 24/7, it’s enjoyable to re-visit how some hoop names came to be.
Some people think that the Chicago Bulls got their name because of the stockyards that exist in that windy city. The Bulls received their moniker in 1966 by their first owner, Richard Klein, who admired “Bulls” because of their toughness and looked forward to having a team that had that quality.

I was bullied as a kid in elementary school, junior high school and high schools. It wasn’t a fun experience, and I still think about these memories to this day. Bullying and hazing carry a long-lasting effect that can cause someone to commit suicide.

Give Rex Ryan his due.
He has done a great job getting the most out of his roster as Jets head coach, and it’s good enough for the Jets to be 5-4 heading to the bye week after a 26-20 victory over the Saints Sunday afternoon. That should earn him a contract extension if he has a winning season with the Jets. That’s the fair thing to do.

Last week, Reggie Bush stopped by Lafayette Coney Dog in Detroit, the famed downtown Motor City fast food joint, where he threw on a staff shirt, hopped behind the counter and learned how to make a proper chili-stuffed coney dog. He did visit a few more places and he showed off his pythons as well. Check out the video here:
