Atlanta, Ga. – February 1, 2012 – A new poll by Poll Position indicates at least 25 million Americans will bet money on this Sunday’s NFL Super Bowl showdown between the New York Giants and New England Patriots.

In a national scientific telephone poll, Poll Position asked, “Will you bet money on the Super Bowl?”

Eleven percent of respondents said yes they are betting money on the Super Bowl, 78% said no and 10% were undecided or had no opinion on the question.

With football in the air for a few more weeks, with phrases like Super Bowl, New York Giants, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens occupying headlines for a while now—the back story of these names and a few others have a lot of history and a lot of interesting sidebars.

FROM WILD CARD TO SUPER BOWL: Winners in the Wild Card round have won the Super Bowl seven times, and at least one Super Bowl participant in five of the past six years played a Wild Card game.

NEW YORK, NY – Former Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd was recently cut by the team after being arrested Wednesday night outside a Chicago steakhouse. He allegedly told an undercover agent he was interested in buying five to 10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana per week to distribute in the Chicago area. Implications are that investigations have uncovered a long and far-reaching list of NFL related names associated with Hurd’s drug activities. The arrest and repots that have followed have sent shockwaves through the sports world and fans are looking for answers.

A players’ character comes out at stressful times in a game. Sometimes under good circumstances and sometimes bad, but all fans can hope for is a better result from their captain, Santonio Holmes.
