Philadelphia Flyers
Off The Post -- The Razor Returns To Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Flyers have had, shall we say, a fascinating history of goaltenders. Parent, Peeters, Lindbergh, Hextall, Snow, Vanbiesbrouck, Cechmanek, Boucher, and Bryzgalov are but a handful of interesting characters who achieved various levels of success or ignominy while tending the pipes for the Orange and Black.

Jackets Out of Answers With Another Winless Road Game
Philadelphia – The Columbus Blue Jackets have just two wins on the season. They are 2-11-1 and they are winless on the road. Whether you have close games or you are blown out 9-2 like they were tonight. A loss is a loss and 0-7-0 away from Columbus is unacceptable.
“This is definitely embarrassing for us as a team. It's tough times right now, “said Columbus captain, Rick Nash.

Opportunistic Henrique Leads Devils To Win
Philadelphia – Patrik Elias, the Devils all-world veteran managed to pull off an amazing shootout goal to help his team get a 4-3 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The first period was a bit sleepy and the ice seemed to be choppy. Then the Flyers took a 2-0 lead early in the second and the Devils could have been back on their heels but instead they got a great backhand goal by captain Zach Parise, just 51 seconds after the Flyers added to their lead. It made a statement and that gave his team and his linemates some jump.

Players currently scheduled to take part in training camp are as follows:
Bryzgalov Meets The Media In Person
Voorhees - - To say that the Flyers new goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is personable is an understatement. His English is pretty good and the reason he’s such a good teammate is the fact that he’s very personable.
FLYERS TO HOST WASHINGTON CAPITALS IN ROOKIE GAME ON SEPTEMBER 15
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they will host the Washington Capitals in a preseason “Rookie Game” scrimmage, presented by Smoothie King, on Thursday, September 15. The game will take place at the Wells Fargo Center at 5 PM.
Bryzgalov and The Flyers Current Goaltending Depth Chart
I keep hearing and reading about “pressure” when Ilya Bryzgalov’s name comes up and I disagree that he will have more pressure on him. I understand that places like Phoenix and Anaheim aren’t media hotbeds but when a top-notch Russian goalie makes it to the NHL they don’t do it with little fanfare, they are constantly under a microscope in the Russian newspapers and when they play internationally in big time tournaments and in some cases the 2002 Olympics where he earned a bronze medal.
Hovinen Can Turn Into a Real Gem
One of the most innocuous signings the Flyers had this season occurred on May 17th. I remember we all talked about it because Niko Hovinen was 6-7 and since he was a Finnish goalie I asked my friend Risto Pakarinen about him. The Wild had passed on him not offering him a deal since he was drafted in 2006. Why? Well I got that answer today.
