Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson has now set the all-time single season scoring record beating out Paul Hornung with 186 points.
That record stood for 46 years. The Packer great was a running back/kicker. The Charger running back also extended his single season TD record to 31 scores.
Packers QB Brett Favre set the all-time completion record passing Dolphins great Dan Marino with 4,968.
Sylvester Flis was once the preeminent sled hockey player in the world. For those that have never heard of him he was born with Spida Bifida. He decided to play a sled hockey game with some friends in Chicago and the rest was history. He was once the star of the U.S. National Team and he was a former Rookie of the Year Award winner.
He won the MVP and scoring titles in 2000 and 2001 and he was the US MVP in the World Cup event in 2000. The offensive-defenseman had everything to do with Team USA going undefeated in 2002 to capture the Gold Medal. The USOC (United States Olympic Committee) gave him the Male Athlete of the Month honors back in 2002! After he won all of these accolades the star took a step back from the game that he loves.
A year after Salt Lake City (2003) I was invited to Alaska to help them start up sled hockey,??? he said. ???I was there for 8 months, got things going there. It was tough there. The attendance was bad???We had an exhibition game at the Aces (of the ECHL) game, and they (the fans) liked it a lot.???

(Philadelphia, PA) ??? The New York Rangers played a decent but not great game yet they still had plenty of scoring chances and three of them went in to give them the 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Injuries have piled up for the Flyers. After the Rangers killed off the Flyers first power play of the game they got some jump. Flyers defenseman Joni Pitkanen failed to clear a puck down low and when goalie Antero Niittymaki couldn???t glove it Matt Cullen got the goal at 6:56 to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead in the first period. Brendan Shanahan and Jarkko Immonen got the helpers.
Just a few ticks later Todd Fedoruk rushed down the ice and passed the puck to R.J. Umberger who was in the slot and he lifted hit into the back of the net to make it a 1-1 game at 7:21 of the first period. Jussi Timonen got the other assist. Rangers goalie Kevin Weekes (stopped 15 of 16 shots) never had a chance to stop the well-placed shot.

Chad Pennington may have to hitch a ride home after practice if he continues to throw interceptions.
(c) Joe Zummo. |
It could be Ken O???Brien, Richard Todd, Matt Robinson, Browning Nagle, Vinny Testaverde, Tom Tupa and now Chad Pennington, and all of them have broken the hearts of Jets fans over the years. As a franchise Gang Green has always trouble winning games when destiny was in their own hands. When Jets players saw that the Pats and the Chiefs had already lost did they let down?
Eric Mangini has been one of the best stories in the NFL this season. The rookie coach has transformed a 4-12 team into a possible playoff contender at 7-6. That???s tremendous but the game plan the Jets had against the Bills was terribly conservative. Even with the win Buffalo is 6-7.
The world knew that Bills RB Willis McGahee would run all over them. With that said the game started to slip away when Pennington threw the interception that was run back before the half. I blame the coaching as much as I blame the QB in this situation. On second down (after a weak running play on first down) with the Jets surging down the field, down 14-10, they ran a reverse to Brad Smith, and it didn???t fool anybody.
