I’ve been keeping a close eye on this team’s trainsition in what can best be described as a meteoric rise the past few seasons. They’ve gone from a University nobody could pronounce to the #1 seed in the NCAA Frozen Four. Is it coaching, goaltending, character players or all of the above? St. Cloud State will have to play a near perfect game to beat this team.

John Tavares had everything to do with a recent win over the Philadelphia Flyers that put them in the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference tied with their crosstown rival, New York Rangers. Rangers forward Derek Stepan, has turned into one of the team’s best players. He had a four-point game and figured in on his team’s first four goals. Almost every facet of his game was at its peak and as a result the Rangers played a full 60-minute game for the first time in a long time.
