"There was a great, dark mystery about when I first came here from Oklahoma. Now I think this is about the prettiest ball park I ever saw." - Mickey Mantle
The New York Mets are playing their last precious games at Shea Stadium. While the team struggles to make the playoffs the franchise is focused on something more important - - making sure they have every stadium memento sold. No item is too small, too dumb, or too expensive, the only thing left that will be left in the stadium when the wrecking ball hits will be the emergency exit signs, oh wait, they are for sale as well ($50 each).
Senator John McCain was on the Mike and Mike show on ESPN and boy did he back track. He now said that government shouldn't really get involved in baseball, but then he said "but we could" and then he muttered the anti-trust law and said he "reluctantly" got involved and was clearly frustrated with Donald Fehr. I used to blame him for not continuing his steroids council, which was to feature Rafael Palmeiro. I remember when Palmeiro was busted for steroids I called the Senators' office to see if that council would replace Palmeiro but I never got an answer. I think he just answered that and I will cut him some slack with that one.
TNA, total nonstop action wrestling, has finally gotten a videogame and when you get a company like Midway behind you good things can happen. This game will definitely appeal to the masses and that’s what they have to be hoping for since their hardcore audience probably isn’t broad enough to suffice.
