Los Angeles (November 5, 2008) - - Richard "Duke" Llewellyn, Wooden Award Chairman and founder, announced the 2008-09 preseason candidates for the Women's Wooden Award All-American Team and Player of the Year trophy today. The list is composed of 30 student athletes who, based on last year's individual performance and team records, are the early frontrunners for college basketball's most prestigious honor.
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - Paced by a pair of Kenny Ryan (Franklin Village, Mich.) goals and Kyle Palmieri's (Montvale, N.J.) game-winner in round one of the shootout, the U.S. National Under-18 Team earned a 5-4 victory over Finland at the 2008 Men's Under-18 Four Nations Cup here tonight at the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena. With the win, Team USA remained undefeated in the tournament, with a 1-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record.

The record-breaking feat will take place as the U.S. Women's Select Team takes on Canada at 7 p.m. ET in the 2008 Women's Four Nations Cup at the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.
