Los Angeles, CA – March 15, 2012 - The world's premier professional skateboarding series, Street League Skateboarding, announced today the 2012 schedule for the DC Pro Tour fueled by Monster Energy. This summer, the league will feature a four-stop nationwide tour:

· Stop One: May 18 - 19th - Sprint Center, Kansas City, MO
Live on ESPN2, May 19 - 9:00PM ET

· Stop Two: June 15 - 16th - Citizens Business Bank Arena, Ontario, CA
Live on ESPN2, June 16 - 9:30PM ET

· Stop Three: July 14 - 15th - Jobing.com Arena, Glendale, AZ
Live on ESPN2, July 15 - 7:00PM ET

· Championship: August 26th - Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
Live on ESPN2, August 26th - 5:00PM ET

The Street League DC Pro Tour Fueled by Monster Energy continues to present the largest purse and highest stakes in all of competitive skateboarding with 24 of the best professional skateboarders in the world competing for more than $1.6MM in prize money and the title as Street League Champion.

As the only tour with street skating’s biggest stars, Street League has had astounding growth since its launch. The 2011 season was the highest attended and viewed contest series in skateboarding history with nearly 50,000 fans in attendance and over 1.4 billion global impressions. Last year's champion, Sean Malto, emerged above the world’s best to walk away with the Championship, and in the process denied teen phenomenon Nyjah Huston a first-ever season sweep. Huston enjoyed an historical year winning the first three events, giving the 2010 League Champion an unprecedented four career Street League victories. Along with Malto and Huston, the heavy hitting roster of Street League remains stronger than ever with stars like Chris Cole, Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Sheckler, Chaz Ortiz, and Torey Pudwill ready to stake their claim to the 2012 Championship

One of the most exciting additions to Street League this year is the qualifier for the newly open spots that will replace the bottom six ranked pros from the end of 2011 season. In April, the league will release a video-based qualifier that utilizes votes from fans, Street League, and its pros to select the winning entrants. A similar qualifier will be launched at the DC Embassy Park in Barcelona, Spain for one European Pro to join the league. Further details on the first-ever Street League Pro qualifier will be released in the upcoming weeks.

“Our goal is to continue to refine the series and make it better year-after-year,” said Street League creator, Rob Dyrdek. “Beyond the evolution of our courses, format, and qualification process, 2012 will mark significant expansions in Street League’s licensed products, permanent plaza efforts, and international presence as we solidify our position as the definitive professional skateboarding property.”

This year the one-of-a-kind skate plazas built in each arena will expand the number of features in its design, to allow for full timed-runs on every obstacle of the course for the Line Section. The Tech Section will highlight the single best trick out of five attempts. Concluding each event, the reformatted Big Section will count the top four scores of six trick attempts. This will allow the Street League pros to push the boundaries of competitive skateboarding even further while maintaining the easy-to-follow format that Street League is known for.

Tickets for the Street League DC Pro Tour Fueled by Monster Energy will go on sale April 2nd at www.streetleague.com. The series will be available live on ESPN2, ESPN3, Street League’s official Facebook Page, and distributed to over 198 countries via the ESPN Family of Channels.
