Tigers End The Regular Season On a High Note

Princeton - - Princeton goaltender Zane Kalemba played his final regular season game as a member of the Tigers and he rose to the occasion with a solid 20–save effort in the 7-3 win over Brown University.

Princeton forward Mark Magnowski had two-goals and four points in this game. Princeton jumped out to a 4-0 lead at 9:29 of the second period. The band just got done playing the “Brass Bonanza” and Will MacDonald had the play of the game when he helped in a puck that his teammate Taylor Fedun snapped on goal but was trickling for the net. After the puck went in the momentum changed for a bit.

The Brown Bears quickly made it a 4-1 game in just over a minute’s time and it was a 4-2 game when Jesse Fratkin shot in a puck from the center slot. Brown did a nice job of flooding Princeton’s goaltender.

A bizarre play this game happened when Princeton’s Derrick Pallis scored to make it 5-2, a short-handed, empty net goal. Brown wanted to have a 6-on-4 but there was over five minutes left in the game and it didn’t make sense to pull the goalie that early.

Princeton ended up winning this game 6-3. It was a strong way to end the regular season as they head into the ECAC playoffs.

A few hours after the game after Harvard lost to St. Lawrence that gave Princeton the home-ice advantage and the Crimson will open up the series on March 5th at Baker Rink.
