touching the game hits home
I had a chance to screen a promotional version of "Touching the Game Alaska" and in the first few minutes you felt like this release was as American as baseball, apple pie, and hot dogs. The folks in Alaska love the game and the players who have played in the Alaska League and in the "Midnight Sun" game that is played without lights because the days last a lot longer during the Alaskan summers, always talk about their time there as a career highlight.
There are some great interviews and amazing photos of Tom Seaver, Dave Winfield, and Randy Johnson to name a few but there are literally dozens of interesting vignettes and I would consider myself an expert on Seaver’s career and there were some things that I didn’t know!
The double DVD set can be purchased here

and it’s a must buy for baseball fans and people who might want to travel to Alaska someday. There are so many stories about the area and its great fishing plus the cinematography is stellar.
Former MLB reliever Mike Timlin does a terrific job with the narration and he added a lot to this film.
I promise you it’s a truly unique disc and if you want to see something different that has a lot of built-in baseball history then get this DVD and you will see what I am talking about!
