Frazier Has Left The Building

I was shocked when June Jones left Hawaii to go to Southern Methodist University. The SMU that used to be known because of the Pony Express with Eric Dickerson and Craig James, but also the one that's never gotten off the turf because of a death penalty that shut them down for a couple of seasons.
Why would someone in a great locale like Hawaii where success has come at a maximum making collegiate stars out of Colt Brennan, who was able, and Timmy Chang, who should thank his lucky stars for June Jones and his offensive system?
It takes a lot of people. The school's AD, Herman Frazier, was the only one to get bounced, but the school's president could have easily been hanging ten with Fraze en route back to the mainland.
It was the first time in a long time that the community was feeling like they belonged. They were legit, not just the pretty place that players were lucky to play on. Coach Jones was a one-man cultural recruiting machine for Hawaii, and who knows if they'll ever get back to that place.
