During the Tribeca Film Festival, I happened to catch a screening and press conference for The Zen of Bobby V. This documentary chronicles Bobby Valentine as he manages the 2007 season of the Chiba Lotte Marine. The filmmakers Andrew Muscato, Andrew Jenks and Jonah Quickmire Pettitgrew were able to spend a season with Valentine where they film him 24/7. From talking with his players to climbing Mount Fuji at night, Valentine’s feisty and forward thinking personality shines through as does his genuine love for the game.
