OTTAWA --- In the world of hockey the NHL All-Star game is fun to cover but when news breaks about Sidney Crosby all of a sudden that’s the top story.
Pat Brisson, Crosby’s agent shed some light on his recent diagnosis of a vertebrae injury which may be a clue into getting Crosby out of the concussion zone and back on the ice. The Penguins reacted well after getting the news.
“They have always been very supportive, Mario and Ron. They were very pleased to hear that.”
Concussions are the hottest topics in sports and right now the best hockey player in the world has been shut down. Now this could put him on a better path.
“Perhaps it gives him a little more of a direction. It’s such a complicated area with concussions. Sidney knows more about the brain than any player I know at this point. The whole industry at this point. Not only hockey but sports in general because injuries to the head has become such a hot topic. There will be more and more research.”
When asked if we would see Crosby on the ice anytime this season? He answered, “That’s his goal..I can’t put any timeline on it.”
So now we wait but the Penguins captain now has a better understanding of his condition and what he has to do to get back out on the ice.
