I wanted to post a short note about the Carl Verheyen Band's performance on 3/21 in Sellersville, PA. I had a chance to meet the band before the show in a very nice restaurant next to the venue (yes the food was superb). They were all very hospitable and I couldn't wait for the show to begin.
The show was great on a lot of levels. It was laid back, Carl is laid back, until he plays his guitar, then he's all business. Walfredo Reyes, Jr (Wally) is superb on the drums. I called him the Latin "Carl Palmer" because he had all of the showmanship of a great percussionist and he drummed his heart out. His "world" solo where he plays beats from all the different countries is one of the best solo's that I've ever witnessed.
Dave Marotta on the bass adds a cool, clear sound to this band and their jams are tasty. To me their best song was the Beatles remake of "Taxman" but every bit of the 2-hour show was memorable.
The interview spells out the tour and visit his website for more information.
